From group classes to one-on-one training, we have a wide range of fitness programs to suit all interests and levels. 

Group Exercise

Group exercise is all about working out smarter and having fun while you're at it. Our energizing and engaging classes and programs are taught by nationally accredited instructors with top-of-the-line equipment.

Bay Club at the Gateway features two beautifully designed, heated outdoor pools and offers a full range of swim programs for people of all ages and abilities. Our experienced professional coaches, trainers, and aquatics teachers are here to help, whether you're perfecting your technique or embarking on your first swim lesson.

Lap Pool
Reserved for lap swimming, the Masters Swim program, and advanced swim lessons, our Lap Pool is 25 yards long, six lanes wide, and is heated to 78° - 80°F year-round. Please check the Lap Pool schedule for program times and restrictions on lap swimming.

Recreation Pool
Designed for recreational swimming and families with children, our Recreation Pool is 19 yards long and is heated to 87° – 90°F year-round. It is used for swimming lessons, water exercise classes throughout the year, and for Kids Camp in the summer. You'll find our usage guidelines for the “Rec Pool" here.

Lifeguards are on duty seasonally between Memorial Day and Labor Day weekend.

Outdoor Hot Tub
The hot tub is for adults only and is ideal for relaxing or recuperating after a vigorous workout. Lighting is provided for night use.

Bay Club at The Gateway is dedicated to providing exemplary programs for players of all ages and skill levels. All members may enjoy our premium tennis courts, year-round lessons, and clinics led by our world-class tennis staff. Lessons & Clinics
Our staff of USPTA professionals offers high-quality instruction, lessons, and clinics for every skill level on a year-round basis. Coaching can be tailored to individual needs or to the needs of the group to strengthen every aspect of your game.

Private and semi-private lessons are offered seven days a week from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm year-round. Choose from 30- or 60-minute lessons that can be purchased either individually or in packages of 5, 10, or 20.

Bay Club at the Gateway offers six levels of group lessons, with new classes at each level starting every six weeks from February through November at 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Classes can accommodate a maximum of seven students, and guests may participate on a space-available basis.

Complimentary Evaluation
Bay Club at the Gateway offers complimentary half-hour evaluations with our tennis professionals for new members. During your evaluation, you will hit a variety of shots to determine your NTRP Rating, which will allow us to arrange games with compatible players and to suggest appropriate programs and clinics. We also give you an introduction to all of the tennis activities and resources at the Club.

Leagues & Tournaments
Bay Club at The Gateway hosts several competitive tennis leagues, including men’s and women's teams rated from 3.0 and higher.

We also host and participate in several tennis events throughout the year, including the annual Singles Championship and Doubles Championship. The Singles Championship includes several divisions for players of all levels, and participants are eligible to win free dues for a month. Game Arranging Service
TopDog is an interactive software program that lets you arrange games with other players at your level. First-time users can download "How to Get Started with TopDog". Once you are registered, you can go directly to TopDog, and members can access TopDog through Xpiron.

All club members with an NTRP rating may use the service. If you do not have an NTRP Rating but would still like to be matched up, contact our Tennis Director at 415.616.8800 or send us an email.

Quarterly Tennis Circuits
Quarterly circuits are held year-round and are open to players of all levels. Set up as a competitive club ladder, circuits enable you to play one match per week for ten weeks against people at a similar level. Racquet Services
Bay Club at The Gateway offers a professional re-stringing service, with a wide selection of stringing options at competitive prices. Loaner racquets are also available.

Personal FItness Training

With our expanding selection of offerings and packages and flexible booking system, it's easy to tailor your Personal FItness Training program to your schedule and budget.

Bay Club trainers are nationally certified and many hold exercise-related degrees. All trainers pursue extensive continuing education and professional development on a regular basis. Choose the trainer that best meets your needs by using our tier system, which recognizes a trainer’s overall record of success, level of education, specialty training, and years of experience.

Pro Trainers: Up to 2 years of experience
Master Trainers: 2+ years
Elite Trainers: 3+ years
Ultimate Trainers: 5+ years

From Vinyasa to Hatha, find your balance with a variety of yoga classes taught by our highly qualified teachers. Enjoy unlimited classes at no additional cost, so you can find the style that best suits you. You can also deepen your practice by combining weekly classes with private instruction and specialty yoga workshops.

Private Instruction
One-on-one yoga, like personal fitness training, is tailored to you. These 60-minute sessions allow you to work privately with a yoga teacher to create a practice for your body and your level of experience. One-on-one yoga allows you to work on what makes sense for you, at your own pace.

Here are just a few reasons why you should add private sessions to your weekly practice:

  • You're a beginner and want to get started without being overwhelmed or intimidated.
  • You have specific injuries or health concerns.
  • You want to work towards a fitness goal such as increasing flexibility, targeting problem areas like tight hips, or increasing mental focus.
  • You want to add yoga to your weight-loss or strength-training program.
  • You want to cross-train for marathons or triathlons.

The Bay Club’s proven all-in-one exercise and nutrition coaching program that allows participants to jump-start a fitness routine, or break through a weight-loss plateau, and get “leaner for a lifetime” with one-on-one nutrition and fitness planning, coupled with small-group training twice a week.
