From group classes to one-on-one training, we have a wide range of fitness programs to suit all interests and levels. 

Group Exercise

Group exercise is all about working out smarter and having fun while you're at it. With more than 70 classes to choose from, our programs are taught by nationally accredited instructors with top-of-the-line machines and equipment.

Bay Club Santa Clara features three heated pools and offers a full range of swim programs for people of all ages and abilities. Our experienced professional coaches, trainers, and aquatics teachers are here to help, whether you're perfecting your technique or embarking on your first swim lesson.

Lap Pool
Our 25-yard lap pool was built in 2012 and features eight lanes, giving our members plenty of lane space to enjoy their workouts. Heated between 78 to 81 degrees Fahrenheit, the lap pool is open during regular business hours.

Programming Pool
This junior Olympic-sized pool features four 25-meter lanes, as well as a shallow play area for children. Heated between 82 to 84 degrees Fahrenheit, this pool is where our aquatic fitness classes and youth swimming lessons are taught.

Lap lanes are available in both pools every, day but may be limited during scheduled aquatics programs and pre-competitive team practices.

We also have a wide range of programs for those who love the water, as well as for those who are new to swimming—from basic instruction to advanced techniques. Programs include:

Michael Phelps Swimming
Our talented instructors and coaches are taking our aquatics program to a whole new level with continuing education in the Michael Phelps Swim Method.

Michael Phelps Swimming is founded on the belief that swim instruction is based on the motor skills of swimming. But that the mental aspect of the sport—building confidence and an understanding and feel for the water—is just as important, if not more so.

In addition to learning personal safety, stroke technique, and rescue skills, our participants also learn how we float and achieve balance in the water, why we breathe rhythmically and need to have certain body positions, and why we need to feel the water.

The Bay Club Company is the only authorized provider of Michael Phelps Swimming in the Bay Area, and all of our instructors are trained in this method. So whether you take lessons or take part in any of our many aquatics programs, you’re assured of the best training possible.

General Pool Etiquette

  • Please take a soap shower before entering pools or spa.
  • Please do not run on pool decks.
  • Diving off pool edges is prohibited.
  • Please do not sit or climb over the lane lines.
  • Food, drink or glass containers are not allowed in or near the pool areas.
  • Keep balls, Frisbees, or large inner tubes away from pool and pool area.

Bay Club Santa Clara is dedicated to providing exemplary programs for players of all ages and skill levels. Racquet members are welcome to enjoy 11 well-lit courts, along with an extra court dedicated to ball machine practice. We offer year-round lessons, clinics, and league play. 

Members have access to online reservations 24 hours a day, or may call the Reception Desk at 408.738.2582. We accept one reservation per phone call.

All players are required to check in at the Tennis Reservation Desk before stepping onto the court.

Challenge Court
Challenge Court | 3.0 or Higher | Wednesdays, 6:00 pm–8:00 pm | Saturdays, 10:00 am–2:00 pm

Designed for players 3.0 or higher who enjoy playing both singles and doubles. Our Challenge Court gives you the opportunity to meet and play with anyone and everyone with a variety of players on a drop-in basis. Please understand and follow posted Challenge Court Rules.

Intermediate Junior Tennis Clinic
Winter Intermediate Junior Clinic | Intermediate Orange Level or Higher | Saturdays | 2:00 pm–3:00 pm

With a low student-to-teacher ratio, we offer two distinct skill-level groups and adjust the groups based upon your child’s progress. With a focus on proper technique, coaches Hanna and Rali offer encouraging match play in a fun environment.

Price: $120 for a six-week series, or $30 drop-in rate for members; $180 for a six-week series, or $40 drop-in for guests.

QuickStart Junior Drop-In Clinic | Beginner/Advanced Beginner | Saturdays | 11:00 am-12:00 pm

This fun drop-in clinic is designed for children ages 10 and under who are new to tennis. Your child will develop hand-eye coordination, movement on the court, and fundamentals of stroke mechanics. Racquets provided.

These drop-in clinics are $15 for members and $20 for guest.

Stroke Clinic
Stroke of the Week | Adults | Saturdays | 3:00 pm–4:00 pm
Back by popular demand, our Stroke of the Week Clinic offers participants a full hour of highly targeted focus on one stroke. Come out and work on specific strokes based on the following weekly rotation: Serve and Overhead, Forehand, Backhand, and Volleys.

Space is limited! Register online or with the Reception Desk. Minimum of four participants are required.

Leagues & Social Events
Bay Club Santa Clara hosts several competitive tennis leagues, including women's teams rated from 2.5 to 5.0 and men's teams rated from 3.0 to 5.0.

NTRP is the official system for determining a player's competitive skill level. It helps all players enjoy the game more fully by facilitating compatible matches, group lessons, USTA league play, tournaments, and programs.

This self-rating system lets players use numbers to rank their level. The scale uses “1” to designate beginners and increases in increments of 0.5 up to 8, which designates world-class level. More information is also available at the USTA Northern California website.

Umbrella Tennis
On Tuesday evenings, club members of all levels are invited to join doubles play at this ongoing social event. Arrive at either 6:00 pm or 7:00 pm to be matched with a doubles partner and a set of worthy opponents. This event is free of charge for members. Sign up at the Reception Desk, beginning at 2:00 pm on Tuesdays; space is limited to the first 16 participants at 6:00 pm, and 12 participants at 7:00 pm.

Etiquette & Dress Code
To ensure the enjoyment of the Club by all members and guests, please review our dress code, etiquette, and policy guidelines.

  • Please register guests prior to the commencement of play. Guests must pay the current club guest fee and any associated tournament or special event fees.
  • Please wait until all players have completed the point before walking onto any court.
  • Be courteous to your neighbors and do not yell or speak loudly on outdoor courts.
  • Do not run into adjacent courts to retrieve balls. Wait until the point being played is over, and politely ask for your ball.
  • Throwing your racquet or using foul language is not permitted.
  • No gum, food, or beverages other than water on the courts.
  • Before leaving, pick up your belongings and place any garbage in provided receptacles.
  • Please leave the court promptly when your time expires. If you would like an extension, return to the Tennis Reservation Desk before continuing play.
  • Please turn off cell phones before entering the courts.

Dress Code

  • Appropriate attire must be worn at all times.
  • No swimsuits, cut-offs, leotards, or bare feet are allowed on the tennis courts.
  • Regulation tennis shoes are required on the courts; we do not allow running or black-soled shoes.
  • Gentlemen are not permitted to wear tank tops. Shirts are required while on the courts.

Members are welcome to make 30- and 60-minute ball machine reservations that begin at the top of the hour.

Courts may be reserved by members up to three days in advance, starting at 9:00 am each morning. Reservations can be made online, in person at the Reception Desk, or by phone at 408.738.2582.

One court reservation is allowed per member, per day. The booking member must be present and playing on the court for the length of their respective booking. Members who book a tennis court and fail to show up within 15 minutes of the reserved start time will be subject to a minimum charge of $15 and a maximum of $45 per booking. Additionally, after 15 minutes, the reserved tennis court will then be released for open reservations. Habitual offenders will also be subject to a 30-day suspension of their court booking privileges.


Bay Club Santa Clara features six immaculate glass-backed courts and a full range of top-notch squash programs for players of all ages and abilities, from private coaching and weekly socials to highly competitive tournament play. 

Sunday and Wednesday Morning Round Robin
This program is complimentary for all club members and takes place every Sunday and Wednesday morning. Squash enthusiast and club member David Harris watches over these fun Sunday socials. You'll meet players of varying levels and enjoy playing in a relaxed, casual atmosphere.

No need to sign up in advance. Just check in when you arrive, we'll help organize your matches according to your skill level and experience.

We offer a variety of instruction options to match your style and your goals. Taking private lessons is the most efficient way for players of all abilities to improve the technical, physical, and mental aspects of their game. A typical lesson at Bay Club Santa Clara includes a skills assessment and guidance on improving your technique and honing your match strategy.

Bay Club Santa Clara hosts open-play badminton Friday through Monday in the Gymnasium. The Club's staff includes two of the finest badminton coaches in the Bay Area, both of whom are also available for private and group lessons.

Small-Group Lessons
Join us for two-hour small-group training sessions, during which you can develop fundamental skills and progress to higher levels of competition. All ages and skill levels are welcome.

Saturdays: 2:00 pm–4:00 pm and 4:00 pm–6:00 pm
Sundays: 1:0 0pm–3:00 pm and 3:00 pm–5:00 pm

10 lessons: $330 members, $350 for guests

Private Lessons

Monthly Badminton Social
Enjoy light appetizers and refreshments the third Friday of every month at our complimentary badminton social. To participate, simply RSVP with the Reception Desk or online.

Open-Play Fridays
Wind down from the work week and enjoy our complimentary badminton open play on Friday evenings with our badminton pro. Children and adults of all ages and abilities are welcome. A limited supply of loaner racquets are also available. Please wear closed-toe, non-marking shoes.

Open-Play Matches: 5:00 pm–8:00 pm
Skills & Drills with the Pro: 5:30 pm–6:30 pm

Court Etiquette
When other members are waiting for courts, players are limited to a 20-minute game; the winner may remain on the court to play the next opponent.

Food and drinks are not allowed in the Gymnasium, with the exception of water.


From Ashtanga to Vinyasa, find your balance with a variety of yoga classes taught by our highly qualified teachers. 

As with all group exercise classes, members enjoy unlimited classes at no additional charge. We invite you to try several styles and classes—working with each of our instructors will help you to find a style that best suits you. You can also deepen your practice by combining weekly classes with private instruction and specialty programs.

Pilates Prime

At the Bay Club, our goal is to offer a comprehensive and affordable Pilates program that will provide you the opportunity to experience a range of instruction, while you safely and effectively progress your Pilates practice. With this in mind, we give you Pilates Prime. This innovative new membership gives you unlimited access to our Pilates Allegro classes at the low rate of $109 per month. What’s more, as a Pilates Prime member, you’ll also receive special discounted rates on personal studio instruction! 

With this membership, you’ll have the ability to attend any of the Allegro classes on the schedule. And class sign-ups can be made up to three days in advance at the Reception Desk, or online via the website. Additionally, our Prime Guaranteed membership option gives you the ability to pre-book your class times prior to the beginning of each month for only $149 per month.

Invented in 1895, Volleyball is the second most popular sport in the world today, exceeded only by soccer. It can be both social and recreational, as well as highly competitive and challenging (most volleyball players jump about 300 times a match!). 

If you love volleyball, we encourage you to join our co-ed league. It’s offered year-round and is open to all levels of players. Learn more at our Open House nights scheduled throughout the year, or send an email to our Fitness Department.

Group Cycling

Bay Club Santa Clara offers MyRide+, Group Cycle, and Express Rides for those on a limited schedule. This non-impact adventure will take you through hill climbs, sprints, jumps, pacing and  interval training—all on your stationary bike. We recommend a heart rate monitor to get the most from this exhilarating cardio workout. Our certified, highly experienced group cycling instructors can help you achieve dramatic results, support your fitness goals with measurable gains, and develop a deeper understanding of your body’s performance levels. Bay Club is excited to present MyRide+. This program provides participants an interactive and engaging indoor cycling experience. During your indoor cycle class, you will see breathtaking views as you tour roads all around the world with our newly installed Myride+ forward-motion video enhancement and virtual training equipment.

Indoor Soccer

Offered on Mondays, our indoor six-on-six soccer league runs year-round. Teams are co-ed with a minimum of two women on the court at all times. We play in the Club's full-size gymnasium with real goals and qualified referees. Games are 50 minutes each; play starts at 6:30 pm and generally ends at about 9:00 pm. Afterward, participants are welcome to join the rest of the team for a social hour. 

This league is not recommended for beginning soccer players. If you would like to give soccer a try, please contact our Fitness Department and we can put you in touch with a local outdoor league.

InBody Analysis
The InBody230 combines fast, convenient, and accurate body composition analysis via bioimpedance, distinguishing between body fat and muscle mass, helping the participant to better understand and monitor how diet, lifestyle, and exercise all influence body composition.

Les Mills’ GRIT
A challenging 30-minute workout from Les Mills—the creator of BODYPUMP and BODYCOMBAT—that increases aerobic capacity, strength, muscular endurance, metabolism, and power via a demanding combination of weightlifting, running, and plyometrics. This program is offered on our Group Exercise Schedule.

A one-of-a-kind program that mimics one of the best workouts around, surfing. Participants achieve an athletic look and cardio conditioning, as every exercise on the RipSurfer X is designed to engage the core and stabilizer muscles to shock the system and create real change—inside and out.
