Proper Lifting

Tennis Skills – Orange Ball
The orange ball level uses a modified court, midway between the red ball court and the full-size court. The low compression orange ball has a bounce height appropriate for most players in this age range and skill level–giving players more time to react, practice swing set-up and tactics as their motor skills are rapidly improving. Players will practice scoring and rules, and will be introduced to match play through shortened sets. Tennis Skills – Green Ball
This class focuses on strokes, footwork, and taking basic strategy to the next level. Players will use a green dot ball which is slightly slower than the regulation yellow ball. This ball facilitates stroke mechanics, movement patterns and allows more time to react and plan during play. Scoring, etiquette, and rules will be taught through games and match play, and students will begin to look for weaknesses in opponents and practice developing their own strategies. Green Ball students are encouraged to actively compete in ladders matches, and will typically move to Yellow Ball when their age, skill, dedication to tennis, and competitive level is appropriate.
